L.K. Bennett Names New CEO

Former Emilio Pucci chief Didier Drouet is to helm the British company.

LONDON — L.K. Bennett has named Didier Drouet chief executive officer, WWD has learned. An announcement is expected later today.

Drouet will succeed Robert Bensoussan, the company’s executive chairman and its shareholder of reference.

Bensoussan’s Sirius Equity and Phoenix Equity Partners purchased the British ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories retailer in 2008 and, since then, has been expanding its retail and wholesale presence internationally.

Drouet started his career at L’Oréal in 1984 and joined Cartier in 1992. He has held a number of senior executive positions in companies including Salvatore Ferragamo and LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, where he served as ceo of Emilio Pucci.

“Didier Drouet has a wealth of international experience in the fields of fashion, accessories and luxury, which will strengthen the growth of L.K. Bennett and capitalize on the many opportunities we have to develop the business both in the U.K. and internationally,” said Bensoussan.

Drouet said he was excited to join the company and looks forward to “building on the foundations in place to further develop the brand globally.”

In the 2011-12 fiscal year ended July 12, the brand notched 95 million pounds, or $152 million, up from 80 million pounds, or $128 million, in the previous period. All figures have been converted at current exchange rates.
