Frederic Morelle, the former head of Vuitton’s business in Latin America and South Africa, became president and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton Japan as of Oct. 13.

Morelle succeeds Emmanuel Prat, who has been promoted to chairman of Louis Vuitton Japan. Prat retains his title as president of LVMH Japan and LVJ Group, which is the parent company of Louis Vuitton Japan.

Christophe de Pous became Gucci Japan’s president and ceo as of Monday. De Pous was formerly the president of trading company Bluebelle Japan. Gucci Group ceo Patrizio di Marco had been managing the Italian brand’s Japanese business on an interim basis.

Late last year, Masaki Iwase stepped down as Gucci Japan ceo and became the president of Burberry Japan a few months later.
