PARIS — LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has appointed Stéphane Linder chief executive officer of luxury watch brand Tag Heuer, effective June 1.
Linder will succeed Jean-Christophe Babin, who is leaving Tag Heuer after 13 years at the helm to take over the group’s Bulgari brand, said Francesco Trapani, president of LVMH’s watch and jewelry division. Babin’s appointment had been revealed in February.
Linder is presently vice president of sales for North America at Tag Heuer, known for its Carrera, Monaco and Link collections, which are represented by brand ambassadors including Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz.
A Swiss citizen, Linder graduated in engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, joining Tag Heuer’s research and development department in Switzerland in 1993.
He subsequently held the positions of product and trade marketing manager, R&D and brand director, and vice president of marketing and product design. He took up his current position in 2010.
