Robin Marino and Wenda Harris Millard are going to be sharing the corner office as co-chief executive officers at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., taking the reins from Susan Lyne, who stepped down as president and ceo.
Marino, who was president of merchandising, and Millard, who was president of media, will report to chairman Charles Koppelman. Lyne will stay on for a time as an adviser to ease the transition.
Before joining the firm in 2005, Marino was president and chief operating officer of Kate Spade Inc. Milliard had been chief sales officer of Yahoo before joining Martha Stewart last year.
“Wenda and Robin are passionate, consumer-oriented leaders with equally passionate teams — all committed to providing our customers with fine quality, beautifully designed products and useful, practical, trusted information that enhances and improves their everyday lives,” said founder Martha Stewart.
Lyne’s departure follows months of rumors that she was looking to leave the company, which she repeatedly played down.
