Former Macy’s executive J. David Scheiner has been elected to the Perry Ellis International board of directors. Scheiner, who retired as president and chief operating officer of Macy’s Florida/Puerto Rico in 2009, fills a spot that was left vacant by the departure of Joseph Natoli from the seven-member board. Scheiner currently serves as a consultant to retail and wholesale apparel companies, and is also on the board of Cache, Inc.
George Feldenkreis, chairman and chief executive officer of PEI, pointed to Scheiner’s “proven track record of achieving profitable results and his strong retail background” as skills that will help the company, “especially as we focus our efforts on direct-to-consumer.”
