Before Robinson joined the company, the position of Maidenform president had been vacant since July 2008. A 25-year veteran of the retail and fashion apparel industry, Robinson had served as group president of the wholesale sportswear division at Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. (now PVH Corp.) since 2000, where he was responsible for the Izod, Arrow, Van Heusen, Timberland and Geoffrey Beene brands. From 1993 to 1999, he served as executive vice president of Gant Corp., a men’s and women’s sportswear and accessories specialist, and was executive vice president of sales, merchandising and licensing at Regatta Sport Inc. for six years.
