NEW YORK — A memorial service with full military honors was held Aug. 26 for Bernard “Barney” Marks, a longtime textile executive.
Marks, who was 88 when he died June 30 from a long battle with blood cancer, was laid to rest at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y., according to his daughter, Melissa. The World War II veteran was a navigator on B-17s flying across the European theater.
