Michael Cunningham will retire as president of Aéropostale Inc. at the end of March following more than 12 years with the teen retail company.
Cunningham, 55, will remain a director of the New York-based company. He joined Aéropostale in 2000 as senior vice president and chief financial officer and was promoted to executive vice president in 2004. He added the title of president in 2010, the year he became a director and relinquished the title of cfo. Prior to joining the retail chain, he was chairman and cofounder of Compass International Services Corp. and spent more than a dozen years with American Express Co.
