The bull’s eye is losing one of its key players.
Target Corp. said Michael Francis, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, had opted to leave the company.
Francis was responsible for all of the cheap-chic retailer’s marketing and advertising operations as well as the firm’s Web site.
He began his merchandising and marketing career in 1985 at Marshall Field’s, which was acquired by Target five years later. He was named executive vice president of marketing for the whole firm in 2001 and promoted to chief marketing officer in 2008.
“We would like to thank Michael for his many contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
