Oscar de la Renta LLC has tapped Steven Speaks as chief financial officer and executive vice president of operations.
When he joins the company June 1, he will head up its finance and operations divisions and will report to chief executive officer Alex Bolen.
Most recently, Speaks was cfo and chief operating officer at Jimmy Choo USA, a post he held since 2011. For the past year, he also served as regional head of global business services within the Labelux Group, overseeing finance, logistics, IT and human resources for Choo, Bally and Belstaff. Prior to his time at Choo, Speaks held senior executive positions in finance at Chloé and Richemont North America.
Speaks assumes some of the responsibilities previously handled by former cfo Giuseppe Celio, who is no longer with the company.
Having just returned from Singapore where an Oscar de la Renta show closed Audi Fashion Festival, as well as a stopover in Dubai, Bolen said the company’s growth was a factor in Speaks’ hiring. He said, “As we have added to our product range, our retail store count and geographical distribution, we have needed more experienced, hardworking intelligent people and to make sure that we’re all rowing in the same direction.”
