NEW YORK — Just call it an annulment.

Some three months after Sam Ben-Avraham brought veteran retail fashion director Nick Wooster on board as a partner and creative director for his Atrium stores, the two have parted ways.

In mid-September, the news was revealed that Wooster had acquired a stake in the Atrium stores in NoHo and Brooklyn here and the stores would be renamed Atrium Wooster. Ben-Avraham also has a store in Miami that was not part of the deal.

At the time, the building in which Atrium is housed on Broadway and Bleecker Street was under scaffolding. The plan was to re-brand the store as Atrium Wooster when the renovation was completed. The scaffolding has been removed, but the name was not changed.

Reached on his cell phone, Wooster confirmed that he was no longer with Atrium. He declined to provide further details on the split, but said he is currently consulting for a couple of brands, including Lardini, a tailored clothing brand from Italy that is launching in the U.S.

Ben-Avraham also confirmed Wooster’s departure, adding, “I can truly say that it was a great learning experience for my team and me having Nick on board for three months even though it didn’t work out long term. I wish him all the best.” Ben-Avraham said he has regained control of the stores and is “currently exploring different options and strategies for the future of Atrium.”

Atrium was 20 years old in 2013, and Ben-Avraham, founder of Project, launched a new trade show under the name Liberty Fairs last year as well.
