Barbara Lavernos has been appointed managing director of L’Oréal Luxe-Travel Retail Worldwide. She replaces Eric Tarral, who will assume a new position at L’Oréal that has yet to be announced. Lavernos joined L’Oréal in 1991 in the consumer product division’s operational department; in 2004, she was appointed chief procurement officer for the L’Oréal Group....Laurent Attal, executive vice president of research and innovation at L’Oréal, will replace the company’s honorary chairman, Lindsay Owen-Jones as a Sanofi board director. L’Oréal owns 8.8 percent of Sanofi’s shares and controls 15.7 percent of its voting rights....The L’Oréal Luxe division has named Stephan Bezy as international general manager of Yves Saint Laurent, replacing Renaud de Lesquen, who resigned as president of YSL and designer brands last December. Bezy also joins the division’s management committee. Most recently, Bezy was general manager of Cacharel. In related news, Nathalie Durán has been appointed international general manager of designer fragrance brands and joins L’Oréal Luxe division’s management committee, as well. Since 2008, she had been deputy managing director of YSL.... Beiersdorf Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the German skin care giant, has appointed Joe Oliveri as vice president, sales. Previously he was at The Dannon Company. Beiersdorf also named Tina Jackse to the newly created position of vice president, global sales, Wal-Mart,while Mike Voaden becomes the senior director of national accounts... Robert Leygues has been elected president of the Fédération Européenne des Parfumeurs Détaillants (European Federation of Perfumery Retail) for a two-year term.
