PARIS – Retail-to-luxury group PPR has named Alexandre Bompard as chairman and chief executive officer of its books, music and electronics retail chain Fnac, effective early next year.
Bompard, 38, has been chairman and ceo of French radio station Europe 1 since 2008. He succeeds Christophe Cuvillier, who will move to an as-yet undefined new role within PPR, the group said in a statement. Bompard will sit on PPR’s executive committee.

"That's something that resonates with me too because I'm so locked into a number. If I go over that number it completely ruins my day so it's nice to get detached from the number on the scale." - Chelsea Handler on Kelly LeVeque's book "Body Love." #wwdeye (📷: John Salangsang)
