Pronovias Names New Chief Executive

Manuel Ehrensperger joins the Spanish bridal firm from Swarovski.

MADRID — Pronovias, the Barcelona-based bridal manufacturer, said it has appointed Manuel Ehrensperger as the group’s new chief executive officer and managing director, effective July 1.

A Swiss national, Ehrensperger has a strong background in luxury retail, according to Pronovias. This includes stints at Levi Strauss, Chopard and more recently, Swarovski, where Ehrensperger served as senior vice president for sales and operations (Europe) and president of the board of directors of Swarovski Management Barcelona.

The 41-year-old executive will report to Pronovias president and owner Alberto Palatchi.

“This is great news for Pronovias and a key step to building the future of the company,” Palatchi said. “Ehrensperger’s incorporation will represent the beginning of a new era for our organization and for the development of its enormous potential.”

Pronovias closed fiscal 2012 with worldwide turnover reaching 165 million euros, or $212.1 million at average exchange rates, an increase of 10 percent over 2011, and a retail presence in 90 countries.

The brand is to preview its 2014 collections at a catwalk show Friday night at the Catalan National Art Museum. On the guest list are 1,800 specialty retailers and fashion editors from around the globe, Spanish luminaries and socialites.
