Heidi Manheimer, chief executive officer of Shiseido Cosmetics America has added a passel of brands to her responsibilities: she has been named group leader for U.S. sales for the Shiseido Americas Corp., which includes SCA, Beauté Prestige International USA, Nars and John Varvatos.

Her new responsibilities are effective Oct. 15.

In this newly created role, Manheimer will oversee the sales and distribution strategy of the brands in the U.S. and will be the key contact for U.S. retailers for group strategy discussions. She will work closely with the heads of the various brands to identify business opportunities and promote sales of the group. The current reporting structure within the SAC remains unchanged.

“I am pleased to have Heidi expand her role and assume additional responsibility within our U.S. businesses,” stated Shoji Takahashi, chairman and ceo of Shiseido Americas Corp. “Heidi has been a driving force of our SCA division and selecting her for this newly created role will help create greater synergy among the sales function for all of our brands.”

Manheimer joined Shiseido Cosmetics America in September 2000 as executive vice president and general manager of the prestige brands division, and was promoted to president of U.S. operations for SCA in April 2002. In 2006, she was named ceo of SCA, becoming the first female and the first American ceo in the company’s 137-year history.
