Signet Jewelers Ltd. said Thursday morning that it tapped a trio of new independent directors.
The jeweler, which operates Kay, Jared, H.Samual, Ernest Jones and its namesake chain, has appointed former Warnaco Inc. president and chief executive officer Helen McCluskey. McCluskey had held various executive positions at Warnaco until the company was acquired by PVH Corp. last October.
McCluskey serves as an independent director of PVH, a position she assumed following the merger with Warnaco.
Signet also tapped Eugenia Ulasewicz, who worked as of president of Burberry Group PLC’s American division until her retirement in March 2013. Ulasewicz joined Burberry in 1998 and became a member of its executive committee in 2006.
She has also held roles at Bloomingdale’s, Galeries Lafayette and Saks Inc.
The Hamilton, Bermuda-based retailer also named Robert Stack, a former global head of human resources at Cadbury PLC, to its board. Stack retired from Cadbury in 2008.
“It is the aim of Signet to have a diverse team reflecting many different disciplines and backgrounds,” said Todd Stitzer, non-executive chairman of Signet. “Helen, Eugenia and Bob each have an extensive and unique set of experiences that will complement the already broad skill set of our board. We welcome them and look forward to their significant contribution to our continuing growth and success.”
McCluskey’s appointment is effective August 1, while the appointments of Ulasewicz and Stack take effect on Sept. 1.
