Thomas M. Kennedy, who has helmed the PacSun division of Pacific Sunwear of California since 2004, has resigned to pursue other interests, the company said Tuesday.
His duties will be reassigned to other members of the management team.
In a statement, Pacific Sunwear's chairman and chief executive Sally Frame Kasaks, said: “We very much appreciate Tom's contributions to the business during his tenure, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Kennedy was in charge of all merchandising, design and marketing of the flagship PacSun division. Prior to joining the Anaheim, Calif.-based company, he spent three years as vice president of global lifestyle apparel at Nike. Before that, he was with Gap, Inc. for eight years in various merchandising roles at the Gap and Old Navy divisions including divisional merchandise manger and vice-president of men’s apparel.
