Eduardo Castro-Wright, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s vice chairman and chief executive officer of global ecommerce and sourcing, will retire July 1, ending what will be an 11-year run at the world's largest retailer.

The company plans to name a successor in January and Castro-Wright, 56, will help ease transition the to new leadership.
