Ronald W. Burkle, chairman and chief executive officer of Yucaipa Cos., the Los Angeles investment firm, may like to dabble in the fashion category — but he doesn’t like to talk about it.
Despite investments in some high-profile names, the billionaire Burkle still remains something of a newcomer to the sector. And his choices so far defy a discernible pattern or specific strategy.
