French fast-fashion chain Naf Naf and one of its manufacturers have been ordered to pay damages of 75,000 euros, or $120,000 at current exchange, to French contemporary fashion label Isabel Marant, for copying one of the Paris designer's dresses. A Paris civil court has ruled that Naf Naf and its supplier, Paris Paris, plagiarized a black dress from Marant's fall-winter 2006 collection, a court spokesman said. The court ruled that Naf Naf commercialized a similar chasuble dress with balloon sleeves in its fall-winter 2006 collection. Naf Naf said it is considering an appeal.
