Longevity has its rewards. Based on incentives for sticking around, Michael Jeffries and Glen Senk, chief executive officers of Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and Urban Outfitters Inc., respectively, in the last fiscal year rose to the top two spots on the list of earners at publicly held U.S. companies that do all or a substantial portion of their business in men’s wear. Abercrombie reported Jeffries’ pay as $36.3 million, but $33.3 million of that “will only be realizable” if certain conditions, including his continued employment, are satisfied. Of Senk’s $29.9 million reported earnings, $25.6 million won’t begin vesting until 2015 and will be forfeited should he leave.
