The L’Oréal Paris Annual Women of Worth Initiative, a program created three years ago to honor those who aim to improve their communities through great acts of grassroots organization and volunteerism, is accepting nominations for the next several days.
The New York-based program is asking for people to either nominate themselves or someone else for the title. Of the approximate 2,000 expected candidates to be nominated, 10 will be honored at an event in December for their achievements, where each will receive $5,000 toward their cause and another $5,000 to donate to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, on their behalf. The grand winner will then be announced, who will receive an additional $25,000 for her cause.
Previous winners have included women who’ve created a volunteer fire department, a nonprofit environmental program for youth and a program dedicated to shipping necessities to U.S. military troops abroad.
Women can be nominated online at womenofworth.com until June 16.
