Design commandos Ethan Imboden and Philip Wood have written their own prescriptions for pre-holiday angst — "Intervention," a temporary Brand Pharmacy installation in the avant-garde boutique All Purpose in Los Angeles. Part guerrilla store, part art installation, The Brand Pharmacy makes its debut Monday and will be up at the South Flores Street location through Dec. 9. Hospital curtains will be hung on tracks and a medicine-dispensing counter will be installed to remind consumers of any shopping addictions or automated holiday behavior.
Reached in San Francisco Thursday, Imboden explained, "We're all familiar with the manic feelings and the ups and downs of the holidays. This is a response to try to bring back meaning to the season. We often begin to lose that in the context of all the shopping mania."

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
