Karen Castellano has been named president of the fashion division of Sequential Brands Group Inc.She succeeds Jameel Spencer, who left the company.Castellano reports to Karen Murray, chief executive officer of Sequential Brands Group.In her new role, Castellano will oversee the company’s brands in its fashion division, which includes Jessica Simpson, Joe’s, William Rast and Ellen Tracy.Most recently, Castellano was president of Tommy Hilfiger Women’s Denim and Sportswear division at G-III Apparel Group, and oversaw the design, sales, merchandising and marketing of the brand. Before that, she was executive vice president of NYDJ Apparel, where she was responsible for leading the sales, retail planning, wholesale planning and merchandising. Under her leadership, the brand transitioned from denim into a full lifestyle collection and expanded its international footprint.Earlier in her career, she was ceo of TR Designs Inc., where she managed and strategically led all aspects of the Tracy Reese and Plenty by Tracy Reese lines, and before that served as vice president of Burberry’s men's wear and children's wear wholesale business. She also worked at Liz Claiborne for nearly 20 years in various roles including president of Claiborne Sportswear and Men’s Midtier Brands.“I’m excited to welcome Karen Castellano to Sequential and have her part of our executive team.
