After Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams, Max Mara has turned to Gigi Hadid to front its fall accessories advertising campaign. The model, who posed as a contemporary Marilyn Monroe for the Italian brand’s fall 2015 campaign, was photographed by Steven Meisel. This is a return for Meisel, too, as he photographed the likes of Stella Tennant and Linda Evangelista for Max Mara in the early Aughts.
Hadid was photographed at Meisel’s New York studio, posing with an aubergine Max Mara Whitney Bag with its distinctive heat-welded ribbing. Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the bag was first presented last year as a homage to the Whitney Museum, which Max Mara has been supporting. She is also seen clutching the sophisticated JBag shoppers in leather with a two-color shoulder strap, or wearing the brand’s retro sunglasses produced by Safilo Group.
Guido Palau and Pat McGrath were in charge of hair and makeup, respectively.
