THE MARRYING KIND: Elle U.K. is stepping into the bridal sphere, with the launch of Elle Wedding later this month. Come Sept. 9, the Hearst Magazine U.K. title will hit newsstands with a 200-page issue that will span content on bridal beauty, fashion, accessories, travel and wedding planning inspiration, all under the tagline of “individuality not conformity,” Hearst Magazines U.K. said. The cover spotlights a fashion-forward bridal look by Chloé, shot by photographer David Vasiljevic, and will have the same production values of Elle U.K., Hearst said, with “intelligent writing,” and photographic portfolios by major fashion photographers all part of its content. Elle U.K.’s editorial team, led by its editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy, will work across the new bridal title. Candy said of the new title: “there is no other luxury bridal magazine like it on the U.K. newsstand. Elle Wedding reinvents the concept of bridal titles and will help the bride showcase her own style.” The title’s first issue will include advertising by Cartier, Jenny Packham, Browns Bride and Graff. There will also be a channel for wedding content on Elle’s site, at Elle noted that according to data from Kantar Media’s Target Group Index, 72,000 Elle readers plan to get engaged in the next year, and six percent of traffic to is to the wedding content already on its site. The title’s second issue is set to be published in early 2015.
