UP TO SPEED AT COSMO: New Cosmopolitan editor in chief Joanna Coles only officially started at the title on Monday, but she had already given out weekend homework to staffers on Friday. Some editors at the Hearst-owned title were assigned essays on what they would like to change in the magazine as well as ideas for potential feature stories, according to sources. Despite the heavy schedule of shows over the weekend, the deadline for fashion staffers for their responses was Monday.

Coles also asked for a digital profile of each editor, listing their favorite Web sites, blogs and social media networks. “She wanted it all today. She really wants to know where everyone’s heads are at,” said one Hearst insider on Monday.
