WASTING NO TIME: Lucky has already filled the seat soon to be vacated by outgoing executive editor Meredith Rollins, who was named to the same post at Redbook last week (and who, in a true show of loyalty, is still clocking in at Lucky to wrap up the September issue). Danielle Pergament, most recently a freelancer for Lucky and Rollins’ fall ’09 maternity-leave fill-in, has been appointed executive editor at the Condé Nast shopping title. In addition to Lucky, Pergament has written for The New York Times, GQ, W and National Geographic.

FACE FORWARD: Burberry will unveil its first Burberry Beauty ad campaign later this week, shot by Mario Testino and featuring Lily Donaldson, Nina Porter and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The campaign, which was shot in a London studio, has a clean-cut, minimal feel, and features head shots of the three fresh-faced models sporting trenches and gazing moodily at the camera. The campaign also features separate still lifes of product. “We wanted the campaign to be completely iconic, and the girls to be wearing really classic yet modern-fitting trenchcoats,” said Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey.
The campaign will break in the August issues of titles including Allure, and will appear in the September issue of titles including Vogue, while an outdoor campaign is planned for Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The campaign will also be available on all of Burberry’s digital platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and burberry.com later this month. Meanwhile, Bailey will be doing a string of personal appearances next week on the West Coast to promote the launch of Burberry Beauty, currently available only through burberry.com, Nordstrom and nordstrom.com in the U.S.
