APPOINTED AT MARIE CLAIRE FRANCE: Marie Claire France has appointed Mathieu Meyer as creative director and Elsa Guiol as features editor in chief.

Meyer comes from Paris design agency M/M where he did work for clients including Balenciaga and Björk. His nomination comes after Marie Claire artistic director Philippe Gruson left in June.

Guiol worked at Grazia between 2009 and 2014 and most recently contributed to Elle, M and GQ.

Both report to the magazine’s editor in chief Marianne Mairesse.

Marie Claire nominated Anne-Sophie Thomas as the magazine’s editor in chief for fashion earlier this year.

In 2013, paid circulation of Marie Claire in France was 395,054, down from 404,306 in 2013, according to France’s Circulation Audit Bureau.
