Lesley Jane Seymour has been named editor-in-chief of More magazine, the Meredith Corporation said today. The position was left vacant in November when Peggy Northrop departed to edit a redesigned Reader’s Digest, even though she led More to steady circulation gains. The magazine has also enjoyed healthy advertising numbers.
Seymour served as editor in chief of Marie Claire until Hearst abruptly removed her in April 2006 (she was replaced by Joanna Coles, formerly Northrop’s number two at More) and has also been editor in chief of YM and Redbook.
