FRENCH MOVES: Friquette Thévenet-Mondino, fashion editor in chief at French Elle, has resigned, WWD has learned.
Thévenet-Mondino, a stylist and wife of photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino, had been recruited by Elle editor in chief Françoise-Marie Santucci to oversee fashion. A spokeswoman for Elle France wasn’t immediately available for comment. It is understood her successor at the weekly magazine has yet to be named.
In other news, Anne-Laure Sugier, formerly of Vanity Fair France, has been named editor in chief overseeing features at Vogue Paris, and Théodora Aspart has been promoted to chief of fashion and style information at Vogue Paris. These nominations come after Pierre Groppo was tapped as editor of the fashion and lifestyle sections at Vanity Fair France, joining from Vogue Paris.
Separately, Nicole Picart, fashion editor in chief at Madame Figaro, is to retire at the end of the year, as reported.
