Time Inc. has poached PopSugar’s chief business officer Jen Wong as its president of digital.

In the newly created role, Wong will report to Time Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Joe Ripp, the company said Tuesday. She starts Jan. 4.

At Time Inc., Wong will oversee the company’s digital and interactive strategies and operations, including its advertising-supported and subscription-based digital properties. She will also be responsible for the development, launch and acquisition of strategic digital services.

“Jen will accelerate our digital transformation and help us realize the promise of our powerful media brands,” Ripp said. “She is an executive that is both highly analytical and creative; she has a proven record growing digital content and commerce businesses. Jen has succeeded in complex organizations and achieved success at each company where she has worked.”

Since 2011, Wong has led PopSugar Inc.’s business operations and growth strategy for media and commerce. As chief business officer, she grew PopSugar and its ShopStyle brands internationally, while also expanding its ad products, video business and commerce revenue, Time Inc. said. Before PopSugar, Wong held several executive management roles at AOL where she oversaw global business operations and then AOL Huffington Post Media Group’s lifestyle portfolio of brands, including StyleList, HuffPost Style, HuffPost Food and HuffPost Travel.

During her time at AOL, she helped oversee mergers & acquisitions and integrations including acquisitions of TechCrunch, 5Min and The Huffington Post. Earlier in her career Wong held a variety of tech and digital media focused jobs at McKinsey & Co.
