CHANNELING FRANCE: Laurent Fabius, France’s minister of foreign affairs, is set to launch Style HD today on the TV5Monde television network at 5 p.m. CET.
The new channel dedicated to French lifestyle is meant both “to support French companies’ expansion abroad and boost French attractiveness,” Yves Bigot, TV5Monde general director, explained to WWD.
The new channel will air in Asia and the Middle East, with a possible rollout to Russia and North America down the road. All content will be subtitled in English, Mandarin and Arabic.
Two weekly shows will be dedicated to fashion: “Trends XXI” and “#VersionFrançaise.”

“#VersionFrançaise,” whose anchor is former model Katherina Marx, is to showcase rising designers and hot spots.
