WEB STYLE: Beefing up its fashion video offer, Relaxnews, the French leisure-oriented news agency, has acquired Paris Modes TV, the English and French-language Web TV fashion channel founded in 2001 by fashion journalist Marie-Christiane Marek. Available in 10 countries — including China, Brazil, France and the U.S. — Paris Modes TV offers video on demand and archive services, as well as video news items covering subjects ranging from hot addresses to trends.
“Nobody believed in it when we first started out. For p.r.’s then, all that counted was print media and TV. I was the first [in France] to screen live fashion shows in their entirety; video interviews with big designers like Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto, or profiles of photographers like Nick Knight, Mario Testino and Paolo Roversi,” said Marek, who has been appointed the channel’s senior adviser.

AFP-relaxnews counts more than 70 clients internationally, including Yahoo in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.; MSN in Canada and Asia, and Redcats internationally. Paris Modes TV will be available in other languages in the near future.
