Courrèges Sold to Two Investors

Executives from Young & Rubicam behind deal to take control of French brand.

PARIS – Space Age designer André Courrèges and his wife and creative partner Coqueline have sold the company to two investors, Frédéric Torloting and Jacques Bungert, the Courrèges press office said.

Torloting and Bungert run the French division of advertising agency Young & Rubicam, but are believed to have made the investment independently.

Coqueline Courrèges has been running the company since her husband retired from fashion in the Nineties. Founded in 1961, Courrèges is synonymous with go-go boots, short dresses and a futuristic logo.
