On Thursday, the luxury firm said it would create a joint production subsidiary with Monaco-based yacht maker Wally. A Hermès spokeswoman said it was too early to reveal details of their joint projects.

The news follows a spate of adventurous pursuits for Hermès, including the recent customization of a Bugatti cockpit, as well as the interiors of a fleet of Hermès-logoed choppers, in collaboration with Eurocopter.

At Hermès’ annual shareholders meeting in June, Patrick Thomas, the house’s chief executive officer, revealed the company is also mulling fulfilling requests to customize private plane interiors.

Forays into boating seem to be the latest wave in luxury. Earlier this month an investment group sponsored by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Group Arnault, owned by LVMH chief Bernard Arnault, acquired a majority stake in England’s Princess Yachts.
