Tommy Bahama has acquired the operations for its Canadian business from its licensee, the Jaytex Group. The deal includes nine stores in that country as well as a wholesale business that includes department and specialty stores such as the Hudson’s Bay Co. There are five stores in Ontario, two in Alberta and two in British Columbia.

“The Tommy Bahama business in Canada has been solid, and we see great potential for growth in the market,” said Doug Wood, president and chief operating officer of Tommy Bahama, a division of Oxford Industries. He said being able to oversee the business directly will allow the company “to establish consistent merchandising, marketing and distribution strategies between the U.S. and Canadian operations,” and give Canadian customers “access to a broader product assortment, direct marketing offers and a closer relationship with the brand.”
