The 2014 Femmy Awards will honor Hudson’s Bay Co. and Lord & Taylor, which has been named Retailer of the Year.
Other honorees will include Jockey International, which will receive the Innovation Award; Delta Galil USA Ltd. as Manufacturer of the Year, and Iluna USA LLC as Supplier of the Year.
Seth Morris, president and chief executive officer of The Carole Hochman Design Group, a division of Komar, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. The organization will also salute Roslyn Harte, president of Lances Harte Inc., with a special President’s Award. Harte, who is celebrating more than 60 years in the intimate apparel industry — as well as her 90th birthday — has been a dedicated mentor to hundreds of innerwear professionals and has nurtured many careers over the decades.
The Femmy’s, which are presented by The Underfashion Club, will take place Feb. 4 at Cipriani 42nd Street. The event honors individuals and companies that have significantly contributed to the intimates industry and its growth. The cocktail party, dinner and award festivities are a fund-raising vehicle that enables the industry organization to support its numerous scholarship, awards, internships and grants programs.
The gala event will also host the 11th Annual Student Design Contest featuring the designs of Fashion Institute of Technology students. The students’ garments will be displayed that evening, and the attendees will select three student designers to receive cash awards. The design contest is an integral part of the Underfashion Club’s mission to help educate, influence and attract new talent for the industry.
This will mark the 56th anniversary of the not-for-profit organization.

@kering_official is spinning off its stake in puma in an effort to focus on its luxury brands, the brand operator announced yesterday. “We are proud to have supported the turnaround of Puma, which now has unrivaled capabilities to take full advantage of the specific dynamics of its global markets and is poised to achieve substantial growth,” said François-Henri Pinault, Kering’s chief executive officer and chairman. The fashion world mourns for celebrated street style photographer, Nabile Quenum, who died at age 32 in Paris.
Quenum, creator of the fashion blog “J’ai Perdu Ma Veste,” was a fashion week fixture, and regularly shot for New York magazine’s The Cut, among other outlets, and brands such as Louis Vuitton, Moncler and Adidas.
