TOKYO — American Eagle Outfitters is plotting its expansion within Japan and plans to open three stores here this year.

As reported last week, the retailer's first store in the country will bow on April 18 within a new retail development on a busy Tokyo intersection where trendy Harajuku meets upscale Omotesando. That store will have a selling space of approximately 12,450 square feet spread across two floors.
