ATLANTA — Athco, Inc. has signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Dunlop Sport for tennis and other sports apparel for men, women and children to be sold under the Dunlop Sport name.

Dunlop, known for its tennis balls and rackets, signed the agreement with New York City-based apparel company Athco last week.

Stu Goldman, owner and CEO, Athco, said Dunlop Sport apparel will include a tennis line that will be sold to grass roots tennis shops and specialty stores and another sportswear line that will be distributed to major national chains. Deliveries begin in January 2009.

The lines will accentuate technical fabrics, including stretch and moisture wicking, merchandised under Athco’s own Aerodry name. The tennis line will also incorporate crossover designs for on and off court wear.

The tennis line includes tops, bottoms, fleece jackets and lightweight jackets. The sportswear line includes warmup suits, lightweight outerwear, pants, shorts, board shorts and swim trunks, and lightweight fleece with various linings (i.e. thermal, quilted, Sherpa). Price points are moderate.
