Westwood Station is just one of the region's behemoths. Here are two others under construction.

SouthField

Who: LNR Property Group

What: The redevelopment of 1,400 acres into a new golf course community on former South Weymouth Naval Air Station, including retail (200,000 square feet), residential (2855 units, with a mix of single family, town houses and condos), hotel, cinema, health club and other amenities.

Where: Weymouth, Mass., a seaside town 15 miles south of Boston.

When: Completion between 2008 and 2017. Phase 1a: 500 residences and 150,000 square feet of commercial space under way.

Tenants: A $22 million sports complex.

Cost: $1.5 billion

Patriot Place

Who: Kraft Group, owner of the New England Patriots

What: A 1.3 million-square-foot retail complex with a 16,000-square-foot Patriots Hall of Fame, medical complex and 500-seat concert venue.

Where: Next to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

When: Phase 1: Retail opened in November; the balance of the project, including the retail lifestyle center, opens this fall.

Tenants: A new Reebok concept, Bass Pro Shops, Victoria's Secret, Hollister.

Cost: $500 million
