The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. named retail veteran William Tracy chief operating officer with responsibilities for stores, information systems, supply chain, distribution and logistics, omnichannel strategy, real estate and human resources.Tracy, 61, joins Bon-Ton from the Hudson's Bay Co., where he most recently served as executive vice president overseeing the supply chain, logistics and omnichannel fulfillment and global sourcing.Prior to HBC, he held chief operating officer jobs at Fortunoff and Nine West and served in various senior level positions at Lord & Taylor and Abraham & Straus. Tracy has more than 30 years of retail experience.Kathryn Bufano, Bon-Ton's president and chief executive officer, said Tracy "shares my vision of optimizing technology to gain efficiency, reach our existing and new customers, and improve our ability to provide fashion for the family in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible."Bon-Ton Stores, a regional department store operator with headquarters in York, Pa., and Milwaukee, Wisc., operates 270 stores in 26 states in the Northeast, Midwest and Upper Great Plains under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers nameplates.
