PARIS — Caudalie, the skin-care and spa business rooted in the French wine country of Bordeaux, is broadening its ethical program.
The company announced that starting this year, 1 percent of its annual sales worldwide benefit environmental causes. These include aiding the replanting of the rain forest, principally in the Amazon; the development of a sustainable palm oil; the development of a sustainable, organic and equitable industry for butter made with shea cultivated by communities of women in Burkina Faso, and small producers of organic essential oils in the Drôme region of France.
