QUAKE SHAKES CLUB NET: The aftermath of January's Northridge earthquake is starting to turn up in earnings reports. Price/Costco reported second-quarter earnings down 9.8 percent, to $62.3 million, or 28 cents a share, from $69 million, or 30 cents, in the year-ago quarter. In the quarter ended Feb. 13, the Kirkland, Wash.-based warehouse operator had a $2.5 million pretax charge from insurance deductibles resulting from the quake.

Sales rose 7.6 percent, to $4 billion from $3.7 billion, but same-store sales dipped 1 percent.

Offsetting the earthquake charge was a $4.2 million pretax gain related to the sale of property.
