Gucci Group chief Domenico De Sole said last October, when asked if the company’s Boucheron unit was for sale, that he doesn’t have any “specific plans” for the sale of that brand or any other, but at the same time, he didn’t rule out the possibility. “You can never say never. This is business and everything is for sale,” he said at the time. A story starting on page 2, Monday, reported on renewed market speculation that Boucheron was on the block, which Gucci again denied.
Licensees for Nautica continue to produce women’s swimwear, eyewear and watches, and the company continues to produce women’s sleepwear in-house. The VF Corp. subsidiary also is rolling out via license shoes and handbags for spring. This was unclear in an article on page 3, Monday. As reported, the company plans to cease shipping women’s jeans to the U.S. after summer deliveries and the Nautica brand currently produces no women’s sportswear.
