There has been a changing of the guard at two men’s brands.
Timothy Farah, vice president of men’s design for Club Monaco, has left the company after a two-year stint. Farah, who had been with Brooks Brothers working on the Thom Browne-designed Black Fleece collection, joined the vertical retailer in early 2009. He said he would take his time “and carefully weigh my future opportunities.”Club Monaco, which is owned by Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., would say only: “Tim is pursuing other opportunities. His replacement has not yet been announced.”
In an unrelated development, Klaus-Peter Saltzmann has joined Ports 1961 as senior director of sales and merchandising for North America, a new position.
Saltzmann was formerly men’s wholesale manager for the Americas at Lanvin. Ports 1961 launched its debut men’s collection in Milan in January.
Etro’s show, titled “The Tree of Life,” was a celebration of the house’s 50th anniversary. “My father founded the company in 1968, which was the year of counterculture and psychedelia.
