Corso Como 10, one of Milan';s most iconic fashion stores, is expanding further in Asia.

Owner Carla Sozzani said Tuesday that she has signed a licensing agreement with South Korea';s Samsung Cheil Industries, an affiliate of electronics giant Samsung, and will open a 15,000-square-foot fashion emporium, complete with a restaurant, gallery and bookshop, in Seoul';s Cheongdam-dong district next spring.

"The idea is to mix the cultures," she said. "And then we';ll do other Asian countries."

Sozzani said the agreement gives her creative control, and will expand her brand and merchandising flair in a fast-growing region.

The Milan retailer, founded in 1990, already has a branch of Corso Como in Tokyo, which Sozzani opened in 2002 in partnership with Comme des Garçons.
