Cover Girl has tapped Emmy-nominated actress Sofia Vergara as its newest spokeswoman, Procter & Gamble Co. said Wednesday. The mother and star of the hit ABC TV show “Modern Family” is currently shooting her first advertising campaign for the cosmetics brand, which is scheduled to air in January. Vergara will be representing new, undisclosed items in the Cover Girl lineup, P&G said. “We couldn’t think of a better person to represent our brand.…She personifies what it means to be a Cover Girl through her confidence and beautiful sense of humor,” said Vince Hudson, general manager, Cover Girl cosmetics. Vergara joins Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Dania Ramirez and Taylor Swift, who are all currently Cover Girls.
