ATLANTA — The NBA and Adidas opened the first Adidas NBA concept shop in Europe last week in Istanbul’s Taksim Square.

The nearly 9,700 square foot store covers three levels featuring the largest range of official Adidas NBA products in Europe, including NBA jerseys, warm-ups and other apparel. It also offers a broad range of Adidas Sport Performance and Adidas Originals apparel, footwear and accessories.

The shop features four areas designed to give consumers a look into the various stages a player goes through to prepare for a game, according to the NBA, and gives consumers a creative way to enjoy an Adidas and NBA basketball experience.

Upon entering the store, the consumer enters the player’s entrance — a tunnel leading to the court. The court zone is the heart of the store where fans will find a wide range of official of official Adidas NBA products and Adidas basketball products. The training zone offers training products, while the transition zone has products meant to replicate when the players step off the court to relax, socialize and get away from the game. The transition zone includes lounge seating, magazines and books, a video game entertainment center and music listening station.

NBA commissioner David Stern and Adidas brand president and CEO Erich Stamminger, as well as members of the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team, were on hand for the opening on Oct. 6.
