The Athens-based Folli Follie Group has inked an agreement with Authentic Brands Group LLC to assume the exclusive wholesale and retail distribution rights for the Juicy Couture brand in Europe, the U.K., Ireland and Cyprus. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Folli Follie Group, whose brands include Folli Follie fashion jewelry, the Links of London jewelry brand and Hellenic Duty Free shops, said in a statement late last week that the deal will “ensure continuity of the significant retail presence of Juicy Couture in Europe,” including its London flagship on Regent Street. Folli Follie added that it also plans to further expand Juicy Couture’s presence in the region and increase sales in its current “key” European markets.
George Koutsolioutsos, ceo of Folli Follie Group, said the agreement would strengthen the group’s presence in the fashion sector and “internationalize” its brand portfolio.
He also said Folli Follie Group’s international reach across “distribution channels…in different continents and through our global partners may ensure further expansion of the scope of the agreement.” Alongside its own brands, Folli Follie Group distributes brands including Ermenegildo Zegna, Nike and Converse in Greece. A spokesman for Authentic Brands Group noted that Juicy Couture will be operated “separately and distinctly” from Folli Follie’s existing brands.
Koutsolioutsos added: “I believe this is an important strategic development for our group and it is the first step in our strategy to expand our brand portfolio [on] an international scale.”
